Windows Maintenance

A small number of components in the example environment run on Windows servers and require their own maintenance routine, separate from the Linux-based application fleet.

Routine maintenance includes applying operating system updates during the regular maintenance window, rotating local log files, and confirming that the monitoring agent is still reporting correctly after any update.

Windows servers in this environment are treated the same as any other server for the purposes of disposability: if maintenance leaves a server in an unexpected state, it is replaced rather than debugged extensively in place.
